hi, I’m Ioana!

I’ve been a writer my entire life even though it took me around 26 years to finally admit it. More specifically, I’m a poet.

When I moved to Barcelona in 2021, I had the urge to find an artistic community. So I participated in a slam poetry competition and I was hooked.

I found the most inspiring people and I started sharing my poems more and more, till writing became the most important thing in my life.

From there, I organized poetry gatherings and events in Barcelona to bring people together to celebrate art and authentic connections.

I love facilitating creative and learning workshops - maybe “space holding” is not a well-known skill but I think I have it (which means creating a safe environment for people to change and experiment).

I’d like to meet you if we haven’t already!

maybe say hello

other things about me

I went on a sabbatical with my partner from August 2024 to September 2025 — we explored Australia (3 months) and Latin America (9 months). Fell in love with hiking, Mexicans, and Iquitos.

I’m a certified yoga teacher, but it’s been at least 3 years since I have taught classes.

I’m a mindfulness nerd: I love everything from breathwork to meditation, from journaling to EFT, from cacao ceremonies to Ecstatic Dance. You name it - I’ve tried it.

My favorite poet is T.S. Eliot and the poem that made me fall irrevocably in love with his writing is The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.

I was born and raised in Romania, lived in Holland for 6 months, and I’m currently trying to find my next home.

I talked more about what I do on the podcast “Nathalie Nahai In Conversation”. You can listen to the episode on Spotify.
